URGENT APPEAL
BeAttitude – St Mary le Wigford Church Lincoln
I would like to commend BeAttitude to your prayers this Christmas. We have had a very busy year, following the first winter as a night shelter last year and have continued to grow as a community in the centre of Lincoln.
As I am sure you are aware we work with some of the most marginalised and disadvantaged people in the city including a large number of migrant workers from Eastern Europe and those with drug and alcohol addiction. We welcome these people and work hard to address some of their issues which may include homelessness, domestic and sexual violence, financial difficulties or simply feeling ‘left out’ by society.
We have had many ‘successes’ including a number of people deciding to reconnect with their families (in Europe and the UK) and others entering long term rehabilitation programs. Other successes are less obvious but include the development of life skills, making friends and generally feeling wanted and valued.
We are not funded in anyway except through the donations of generous individuals and Churches and other groups.
This Christmas we would particularly value your prayers as we seek to look for sponsors and funding for 2012. We are at a critical stage. Once again we are having to open our doors to a significant number of marginalised people at night in order to provide them with shelter over the winter months and there are very obvious cost implications in this. We do not want to turn anyone away.
If you would like more information or can help support us in anyway please get in touch. Telephone Liz Jackson on 07799 724908.
Many many thanks and many blessings this Christmas.
